TBC1D24 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TBC1D24 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TBC1D24 Antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TBC1D24, or TBC1 domain family member 24, is a 559 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role as a GTPase-activating protein for Rab family proteins, which are essential for intracellular transport and membrane trafficking. TBC1D24 contains a Rab-GAP TBC domain and a TLD domain, and interacts with ARF6, a protein involved in the regulation of endocytosis and cytoskeletal dynamics. TBC1D24 is predominantly expressed in the brain, where TBC1D24 is vital for neuronal projection development, likely through the negative modulation of ARF6 function. TBC1D24 is also found in other tissues such as testis, skeletal muscle, heart, kidney, lung, and liver. Mutations in the TBC1D24 gene are linked to familial infantile myoclonic epilepsy (FIME), a severe form of epilepsy that begins in early infancy and is characterized by myoclonic seizures, febrile convulsions, and tonic-clonic seizures. The TBC1D24 gene spans 28,353 bases and is located on human chromosome 16p13.3, highlighting its significance in both neurological function and disease.
