Taxol Antibody (29B7B3C) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Taxol of non-species reactive (NSR) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Taxol, also known as Paclitaxel, is a potent mitotic inhibitor derived from the bark of the Pacific yew tree (Taxus brevifolia) and is extensively utilized in cancer chemotherapy for treating various malignancies, including ovarian, lung, breast, prostate, and head and neck cancers. Taxol plays a crucial role in disrupting normal microtubule dynamics during cell division, as Taxol binds to β Tubulin, promoting the polymerization and stabilization of microtubules. This action leads to G2/M phase arrest, ultimately triggering apoptosis in cancer cells. Understanding the structure of Taxol is vital, as Taxol′s unique ability to stabilize microtubules makes Taxol an effective therapeutic agent, yet also contributes to the development of drug resistance and significant side effects, such as peripheral neurotoxicity.
