STEAP Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects STEAP in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-STEAP antibody (H-6) recognizes the six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate, a protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in the context of cancer. STEAP is known for involvement in the regulation of cellular iron homeostasis and has been implicated in the proliferation and survival of cancer cells, making STEAP a significant target for therapeutic intervention. Elevated levels of STEAP are found in various cancer cell lines, including those from prostate, bladder, colon, ovarian, and Ewing sarcoma, highlighting STEAP′s potential as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and treatment. The human STEAP gene, located on chromosome 7q21, encodes a 339 amino acid protein that exhibits 80% homology with mouse STEAP at both the nucleotide and amino acid levels, underscoring evolutionary conservation and importance in both species. The presence of STEAP at cell-cell junctions in the secretory epithelium further emphasizes STEAP′s role in maintaining tissue architecture and function, making STEAP monoclonal antibody (H-6) an invaluable tool for researchers studying cancer biology and therapeutic targets.
