Ron α Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to recognize amino acids 1-170 at the N-terminus of the human Ron α protein, also known as MST1R, macrophage-stimulating protein receptor (MSP receptor), p185-Ron, CD136 antigen, or PTK8. Ron α is the extracellular alpha chain of the Ron receptor tyrosine kinase, which plays a crucial role in cellular communication by binding to its ligand, macrophage-stimulating protein (MSP), and initiating downstream signaling pathways that regulate essential processes such as cell growth, survival, migration, and differentiation. The structure of Ron α, characterized by a cysteine-rich extracellular domain, is vital for ligand binding and receptor dimerization, which are necessary steps for activating signaling cascades.
