    SEE ALSO...

PHTF1 Antibody (PHTF1R8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PHTF1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). PHTF1 Antibody (PHTF1R8) is available as a non-conjugated anti-PHTF1 antibody (PHTF1R8). PHTF1, or putative homeodomain transcription factor 1, is a potential transcription regulator that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in spermatozoa development. PHTF1 is an integral, multipass membrane protein predominantly expressed in the testis and is associated with the endoplasmic reticulum. PHTF1 contains a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain, which is essential for function as a transcription factor, allowing DNA binding and gene expression regulation. During meiosis and spermiogenesis, PHTF1 is present in the cell, but releases from mature sperm cells within residual bodies, indicating involvement in sperm maturation. PHTF1 interacts with FEM1B, potentially recruiting FEM1B to the surface of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, suggesting a role as a sequestering or anchoring protein. Two isoforms of PHTF1 exist due to alternative splicing, with isoform 2 being shorter and lacking specific amino acid residues. Anti-PHTF1 antibody (PHTF1R8) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying PHTF1′s role in reproductive biology and fertility implications.

I am using PHTF1 (PHTF1R8): sc-81111 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
