p16-ARC Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects p16-ARC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p16-ARC (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p16-ARC protein, also known as ARPC5 or ARC16, is a crucial 151 amino acid subunit of the Arp2/3 complex, which is essential for actin polymerization and the formation of branched actin networks. p16-ARC protein plays a significant role in maintaining the structural integrity of the Arp2/3 complex, and serves as a substrate for MAPKAPK-2, which phosphorylates p16-ARC, potentially influencing the regulatory functions of the Arp2/3 complex and the remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton. p16-ARC′s interaction with other actin-related proteins underscores its importance in cellular processes such as motility, shape maintenance, and intracellular transport. Two isoforms of p16-ARC arise from alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity in various cellular contexts.
