    SEE ALSO...

OSBP Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OSBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OSBP antibody (H-5) recognizes Oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP), which plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and signal transduction, as well as vesicle transport. OSBP (H-5) antibody targets a protein essential for transporting sterols from lysosomes to the nucleus, where OSBP regulates expression of genes involved in cholesterol synthesis, including HMG synthetase, HMG-CoA reductase, and low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). OSBP is primarily localized in the cytosol and widely expressed across various tissues, while OSBP2 is predominantly found in the testis, retina, and fetal liver. OSBP (H-5) monoclonal antibody detects a protein that interacts with 25-hydroxy-cholesterol (25-HC), a potent modulator of cholesterol synthesis gene transcription, thereby influencing extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway through cholesterol-binding properties. OSBP′s ability to translocate to Golgi membrane periphery upon binding to oxysterols highlights a dynamic role in cellular lipid homeostasis and signaling, making anti-OSBP antibody (H-5) an invaluable tool for studying these critical biological processes.
