IGF-IRα Antibody (26-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects insulin-like growth factor-I receptor (IGF-IR) in human samples through immunoprecipitation (IP). IGF-IR plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways that regulate growth and survival, making IGF-IR (26-3) antibody a significant tool in cancer research and therapeutic development. This receptor tyrosine kinase resides on the cell membrane, where IGF-IR acts as a transducer of growth signals initiated by insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I). IGF-I binding to IGF-IR triggers a cascade of intracellular events, including Ras and ERK pathway activation, which drive cell proliferation and differentiation. IGF-IR′s membrane location enables rapid signal transduction and interaction with downstream signaling molecules, such as insulin receptor substrates (IRS), which further propagate growth signals. The human IGF-IR gene, located on chromosome 15q26.3, encodes a precursor protein that forms α and β subunits essential for functional activity. Anti-IGF-IR antibody (26-3) enables researchers to study IGF-IR signaling dynamics and implications in various biological processes and diseases.
