Glycine is widely used as a buffer for a variety of immunological applications. Glycine is frequently used in the preparation of TG Buffers (Tris-Glycine; sc-296648) where the buffer is used as a running and/or transfer buffer for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and western blotting. Glycine (100 mM, pH 2.0-2.5; sc-295018) is also used as an eluent in column chromatography. Glycine has been reported for use in the enzymatic determination of lactate using lactic dehydrogenase. Glycine has also been use for the preparation of gelatin composites scaffold.
