CD2 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD2 in human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD2 is a crucial transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed on peripheral blood T lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, and thymocytes, as well as on mouse B cells and rat splenic macrophages. CD2 mediates cell adhesion by interacting with CD58, which enhances antigen-specific T cell activation. This interaction is vital for optimizing immune system recognition, facilitating communication between helper T lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells, as well as between cytolytic effectors and target cells. The importance of CD2 in immune responses underscores CD2′s potential as a therapeutic target in various immunological disorders. Anti-CD2 antibody (D-5) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying T cell activation and immune interactions, contributing to a deeper understanding of immune system dynamics.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-365017 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
