APC5 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects APC5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). APC5 (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The anaphase-promoting complex (APC), which includes more than ten subunits such as APC1, APC2, APC4, APC5, APC7, APC8, APC10, and APC11, plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation by facilitating the separation of sister chromatids during the transition from metaphase to anaphase in mitosis. APC5, also known as ANAPC5 or PDL-108, is a vital subunit of the APC that not only contributes to the complex′s structural integrity but also mediates interactions with transcription coactivators CBP and p300, which are essential for regulating gene expression during cell division. Proper functioning of APC5 and the entire APC is critical, as any dysregulation can lead to improper cell cycle progression and has been implicated in various cancers. APC is activated through phosphorylation by protein kinases such as Cdk1/cyclin B and polo-like kinase, and APC activity is tightly regulated by factors like CDC20, CDH1, and MAD2, which ensure that the ubiquitination of mitotic cyclins and other regulatory proteins occurs at the right time, preventing premature or inappropriate cell division.
