AP-2γ Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AP-2γ in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AP-2γ is a crucial member of the AP-2 transcription factor family, which includes AP-2α and AP-2β, and binds to the DNA consensus sequence CCCCAGGC to initiate transcription of specific genes. AP-2γ plays a key role in regulating gene expression related to developmental processes and cellular differentiation. AP-2γ forms the OB2-1 transcription factor complex, essential for upregulating the proto-oncogene c-ErbB-2, which is overexpressed in many breast cancers, highlighting AP-2γ′s relevance in cancer biology.
