SEE ALSO...

SATB2 Antibody (SATBA4B10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SATB2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-SATB2 antibody (SATBA4B10) is available as a non-conjugated format. SATB2, or Special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2, plays a crucial role in craniofacial development, particularly in jaw and palate formation, and is integral to a transcriptional network regulating skeletal development and osteoblast differentiation. SATB2 shows predominant expression in adult and fetal brain and features two CUT DNA-binding domains along with one homeobox domain, essential for gene regulation function. SATB2 shares close relation to SATB1, a known transcriptional repressor, and interacts with matrix-attachment regions (MARs) to modulate transcription of various genes, including HoxA2 and ATF4 (CREB-2), both vital for skeletal development. SATB2 functions as a transcriptional activator and repressor, serving as a protein scaffold that enhances activity of other DNA-binding proteins. Mutations in SATB2 can lead to cleft palate and are often associated with severe cognitive impairments, highlighting significance in both developmental biology and potential clinical implications.
