PRC1 Antibody (6G2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects PRC1 in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. PRC1, or protein regulating cytokinesis 1, plays a crucial role in the regulation of the cell cycle by facilitating the proper separation of daughter cells during cytokinesis. PRC1 (6G2) antibody localizes to the midzone of mitotic spindles during anaphase and is essential for the formation of the cell midbody, which is critical for successful cellular cleavage. Studies show that PRC1 depletion can prevent cellular cleavage without affecting nuclear division, highlighting anti-PRC1 antibody (6G2) specific function in the later stages of mitosis. PRC1′s yeast homolog, Ase1, is vital for spindle assembly, elongation, and disassembly, and undergoes degradation mediated by the anaphase-promoting complex upon entry into the G1 phase, further emphasizing the regulatory mechanisms governing cell division. With specific reactivity and proven applications, PRC1 monoclonal antibody (6G2) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell cycle dynamics and cytokinesis in human cells.
