Pegasus Antibody (1B6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Pegasus protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Pegasus antibody (1B6) is available as the non-conjugated form. Pegasus protein, also known as zinc finger protein Ikaros 5, is a crucial transcriptional repressor composed of 419 amino acids and is primarily localized in the nucleus, where Pegasus protein plays a significant role in regulating gene expression. Pegasus protein binds to the 5′GNNTGTNG-3′ DNA core sequence, utilizing five C2H2-type zinc finger domains, which are essential for both DNA binding and the formation of homodimers and heterodimers with other Ikaros family members. Pegasus protein′s ability to interact with these family members, such as Ikaros and Helios, is vital for the modulation of transcriptional activity in response to cellular signaling events, particularly during T-cell activation. Pegasus protein is expressed in various tissues, including the kidney, heart, skeletal muscle, brain, and liver, highlighting Pegasus protein′s importance in diverse biological processes. Using Pegasus (1B6) antibody in research can provide valuable insights into the regulatory mechanisms of gene expression and the functional dynamics of the Ikaros family in hematopoietic development and immune responses.
