MAN2A1 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MAN2A1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAN2A1 (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MAN2A1, also known as mannosidase alpha class 2A member 1, is a crucial single-pass type II membrane protein that resides in the cisternae of the Golgi apparatus, where MAN2A1 plays a vital role in glycoprotein modification. Specifically, MAN2A1 is involved in N-glycan processing, catalyzing the hydrolysis of terminal alpha-D-mannose residues in the oligosaccharide Man5(GlcNAc)3, a critical step in glycoprotein maturation. This enzymatic activity is essential for proper protein folding and function, as well as for overall cellular glycosylation, which impacts various biological functions, including cell signaling, immune response, and protein stability. MAN2A1′s ability to utilize zinc as a cofactor further underscores MAN2A1′s importance in cellular metabolism and highlights MAN2A1′s potential as a target for therapeutic interventions in diseases associated with glycosylation defects.
