    IL-13 Antibody (JES10-2E10) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects interleukin-13 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IL-13 antibody (JES10-2E10) plays a crucial role in understanding the function of interleukin-13, a pleiotropic cytokine that is integral to immune regulation and inflammation. This cytokine is primarily secreted by activated T lymphocytes and is known for modulating the activity of monocytes, macrophages, and B cells, thereby influencing the immune response. Interleukin-13 shares significant sequence identity with interleukin-4 and exhibits overlapping biological activities, such as upregulating the expression of CD23 and MHC proteins while downregulating CD14. These actions are vital for the regulation of IgE production in B cells and the inhibition of proinflammatory cytokines from activated monocytes, making interleukin-13 a key player in allergic responses and asthma pathogenesis. The protein′s structure includes five cysteine residues and multiple N-linked glycosylation sites, which are essential for stability and function. The cDNA of interleukin-13 encodes a 131 amino acid precursor that includes a 20 amino acid signal peptide, which is cleaved to produce the mature protein.
