    SEE ALSO...

Grid2ip Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Grid2ip protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Grid2ip (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Grid2ip protein, also known as glutamate receptor, ionotropic, δ2 (Grid2 or GluR-δ2) interacting protein 1 or delphilin, serves as a crucial postsynaptic scaffolding protein that contains one formin homology 2 domain and two PDZ domains, which are essential for protein-protein interactions. Grid2ip is predominantly expressed in Purkinje cells of the cerebellum, where Grid2ip localizes specifically to parallel fiber synapses, facilitating interaction with the C-terminus of GluR-δ2. This interaction links GluR-δ2, a glutamate receptor integral to motor learning, cerebellar wiring, and synaptic plasticity, with various signaling molecules and the actin cytoskeleton. Alternative splicing of Grid2ip gene results in three isoforms: L-delphilin, S-delphilin (or delphilin-α), and delphilin-β, each exhibiting distinct expression patterns and protein interactions. Palmitoylation of delphilin-α enhances GluR-δ2 expression on the cell surface and promotes delphilin-α accumulation in dendritic spines, underscoring this modification′s importance in synaptic function and plasticity.
