Gα i-1 Antibody (SPM397) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Gα i-1 in mouse, rat, human, and bovine samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. Gα i-1 is a crucial member of the Gi class of G protein alpha subunits, which play a significant role in cellular signaling by inhibiting adenylate cyclase activity and thereby reducing cyclic AMP levels in response to various extracellular signals. This modulation of cyclic AMP is vital for regulating numerous physiological processes, including cardiac function, neurotransmitter release, and hormone signaling. Gα i-1 is primarily located in the plasma membrane, where anti-Gα i-1 antibody (SPM397) can detect interactions with G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that transduce signals from outside the cell to the interior, influencing downstream effectors and cellular responses. Gα i-1′s ability to bind and hydrolyze GTP is essential for function, allowing timely activation and deactivation of signaling pathways, ensuring cellular responses are appropriately regulated. Gα i-1′s interactions with specific receptors and downstream effectors highlight importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to environmental changes, making Gα i-1 (SPM397) monoclonal antibody a critical tool for research in pharmacology and neurobiology.
