ERp57 Antibody (TO-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ERp57 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry (FCM). ERp57, also known as GRP57, GRP58, ERp60, and ERp61, plays a crucial role in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I pathway, which is essential for the immune response against intracellular pathogens. ERp57 is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum, where ERp57 assists in the proper folding and assembly of MHC class I molecules, ensuring that MHC class I molecules can effectively present short pathogenic peptides to cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Proper functioning of ERp57 is vital, as any disruption in this process can lead to impaired immune responses and increased susceptibility to infections. The human ERp57 gene is located on chromosome 15q15 and encodes a 505 amino acid protein that contains two highly conserved Trp-Cys-Gly-His-Cys-Lys motifs, underscoring ERp57′s evolutionary importance. Additionally, ERp57 exhibits multifunctional properties, acting as a protease, protein disulfide isomerase, and potentially a phospholipase, which further highlights ERp57′s significance in cellular processes. With broad species reactivity and versatile applications, anti-ERp57 antibody (TO-2) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying immune responses and protein interactions in various biological contexts.

Can ERp57 (TO-2): sc-80648 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, ERp57 (TO-2): sc-80648 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
