DBH Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects dopamine beta-hydroxylase (DBH) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DBH antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Dopamine beta-hydroxylase plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of catecholamines by catalyzing the conversion of dopamine to noradrenaline, which is essential for proper functioning of the sympathetic nervous system and regulation of blood pressure and heart rate. DBH (A-9) monoclonal antibody specifically detects expression in noradrenergic and adrenergic neurons, as well as in neuroendocrine cells, making DBH a specific marker for noradrenergic processes. The active form of DBH is a homotetramer, localized within the lumen of synaptic vesicles in nerve cells, where DBH associates with both the membrane and cytosol. DBH expression is influenced by nerve growth factor and insulin growth factor-1, and regulated by intracellular second messengers such as protein kinase A, cyclic AMP, diacylglycerol, and calcium ions. Transcriptional regulation of DBH is mediated by transcription factors including Sp1, CREB, and AP-1 proteins, which encompass c-Fos, c-Jun, and JunD, highlighting the complex regulatory mechanisms that govern DBH expression and activity.
