    SEE ALSO...

Cytokeratin 5/6/18 Antibody (0.N.345) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Cytokeratin 5/6/18 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-Cytokeratin 5/6/18 antibody (0.N.345) is available as a non-conjugated format. Cytokeratins are intermediate filament proteins expressed in pairs within keratinized and non-keratinized epithelial tissues, maintaining structural integrity and function of epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 5/6/18 (0.N.345) plays a crucial role in epithelial cell differentiation and serves as a marker for tissue specialization, essential for understanding pathological conditions including malignant tumors. Cytokeratin 5 appears in normal basal cells, while Cytokeratin 6 expresses in suprabasal keratinocytes during wound healing, and Cytokeratin 18 forms a key component of simple epithelia and adenocarcinomas. Mutations in the KRT5 gene can lead to epidermolysis bullosa, highlighting Cytokeratin 5/6/18′s significance in normal physiology and disease states. Anti-Cytokeratin 5/6/18 antibody (0.N.345) effectively detects these proteins across multiple applications, making this reagent invaluable for epithelial biology and disease research.

Can Cytokeratin 5/6/18 (0.N.345): sc-70925 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, Cytokeratin 5/6/18 (0.N.345): sc-70925 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
