    SEE ALSO...

CA XIII Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CA XIII of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CA XIII (G-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a significant family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide, playing crucial roles in numerous physiological processes such as respiration, acid-base balance, and the formation of various bodily fluids. CA XIII, also known as carbonate dehydratase XIII, is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm of tissues such as the spleen, prostate, thymus, ovary, testis, colon, and small intestine, which is vital for maintaining pH homeostasis and facilitating metabolic processes in these organs. CA XIII expression may also be linked to embryogenesis, highlighting potential importance in developmental biology. CA XIII exhibits significant homology with other family members, including CA I, CA II, and CA III, suggesting overlapping functions or regulatory mechanisms. Efficient inhibitors of CA XIII activity, such as sulfanilyl-sulfonamide type inhibitors, have been identified, providing potential therapeutic avenues for conditions related to dysregulated carbonic anhydrase activity.
