Atrazine acts as a broad-spectrum herbicide effective against a wide range of weeds and grasses. Further, it is a selective herbicide meaning it can selectively target weeds, not important plants. The mode of action of Atrazine involves binding to specific receptors present on cell surfaces, thereby initiating a cascade of biochemical reactions that impede the process of photosynthesis. Consequently, the growth of weeds and grasses is hindered, ultimately leading to their demise.
