Adipsin Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Adipsin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Adipsin, also known as complement Factor D, plays a crucial role in the complement system, which is essential for immune response and inflammation regulation. This serine protease is primarily secreted by adipose tissue, where Adipsin is involved in the cleavage of complement factor B, facilitating the activation of the alternative pathway of the complement system. Adipsin′s importance extends beyond enzymatic function; anti-Adipsin antibody (D-8) has helped reveal connections to metabolic processes and obesity-related conditions. Low levels of Adipsin have been observed in obese mice with hypothalamic defects, suggesting a potential link between Adipsin expression and metabolic health. The presence of Adipsin in monocytes and macrophages highlights Adipsin′s role in immune modulation, making Adipsin antibody (D-8) a significant tool for research in both metabolic and immune-related studies.
