SEE ALSO...

ACTR-II Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ACTR-II protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ACTR-II antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACTR-II protein plays a crucial role in the transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling pathway, which is essential for regulating various cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. ACTR-II serves as a type II receptor that forms a heteromeric complex with type I receptors, facilitating the binding of ligands like activin. This interaction is vital for proper functioning of the signaling cascade, influencing gene expression and cellular responses. Expression of ACTR-II is particularly high in the brain, where ACTR-II is implicated in neurodevelopment and modulation of neuronal functions. Understanding ACTR-II dynamics and interactions with other proteins in the TGF-β superfamily is important for elucidating ACTR-II′s role in health and disease, making ACTR-II monoclonal antibody (F-12) a valuable tool for researchers studying these complex biological processes.

Can ACTR-II (F-12): sc-390977 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, ACTR-II (F-12): sc-390977 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Potent and very specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was medium detection of the ~58 kDa target protein in a HeLa/Jurkat cell lysate mix, but it was not detected in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested or in the HeLa/Jurkat cell lysate mix.
