    TRα2 Antibody (1330) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TRα2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. TRα2, a C-terminal variant of the TRα1 isoform, plays a crucial role in thyroid hormone signaling by acting as a dominant negative antagonist, which means TRα2 can inhibit the effects of thyroid hormones on gene expression. This is particularly important because thyroid hormones are essential regulators of metabolism, growth, and development, and TRα2 can modulate the physiological responses to these hormones. Unlike TRα1, which can bind thyroid hormones and is involved in transcriptional activation, TRα2 does not bind thyroid hormones effectively and instead can interfere with the normal function of TRα1, thereby influencing various metabolic processes. The ability of TRα2 to localize in the nucleus and potentially in the cytoplasm underscores TRα2′s significance in cellular signaling pathways, making anti-TRα2 antibody (1330) an invaluable tool for researchers studying thyroid hormone action and its implications in metabolic disorders.
