Thrombospondin 3 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Thrombospondin 3 (THBS3) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Thrombospondin 3 antibody (A-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. THBS3 is a member of the thrombospondin family of glycoproteins, which are crucial for cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix signaling. THBS3 is primarily located in the extracellular matrix, where THBS3 plays a significant role in regulating cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation. The extracellular matrix is vital for maintaining tissue architecture and facilitating communication between cells, making THBS3 essential for developmental processes and tissue repair. THBS3 interacts with various proteins, including integrins and growth factors, which further underscores THBS3′s importance in modulating cellular responses and influencing the behavior of surrounding cells. THBS3′s ability to bind heparin and other extracellular matrix components highlights THBS3′s role in mediating complex biological interactions, making THBS3 a valuable target for research in developmental biology and regenerative medicine.

Can Thrombospondin 3 (A-12): sc-25348 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, Thrombospondin 3 (A-12): sc-25348 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
