    SEE ALSO...

TAG-72 Antibody (0.N.561A) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72) with broad species reactivity through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). TAG-72 is a high molecular weight glycoprotein primarily localized to the cytoplasm and cell membrane of malignant cells, playing a crucial role in tumor biology as a marker for various cancers. Expression of TAG-72 is notably high in approximately 80% of colorectal carcinomas, while being rarely found in normal epithelial tissues and benign conditions, making TAG-72 a significant target for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. TAG-72 is also expressed in several gynecologic malignancies, including common epithelial ovarian and endometrial carcinomas, and TAG-72 presence in human prostatic adenocarcinomas has been shown to negatively correlate with the Gleason grade of differentiation, indicating potential as a prognostic marker. Furthermore, TAG-72 is highly expressed in low-grade mucoepidermoid carcinomas, while being absent in pure squamous cell mucoepidermoid carcinomas, highlighting specificity in cancer detection. TAG-72′s ability to aid in the purification of primary ovarian cancer cells from patient ascites further underscores importance in cancer research and treatment strategies.
