Sp2 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Sp2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sp2 is a member of the Sp transcription factor family, which also includes Sp1, Sp3, and Sp4, and is characterized by a highly conserved DNA-binding domain featuring three zinc fingers at its C-terminus. While Sp2 exhibits weak binding to GT boxes, Sp2 is distinct from Sp1, Sp3, and Sp4, which have a high affinity for GC boxes. Sp2 expression is primarily found in specific tissues, with its gene located on chromosome 17p32.3, and plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression. Notably, Sp2 interacts with various proteins, including E2, a regulatory element for the β4 subunit of neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, which highlights Sp2′s importance in neuronal signaling pathways. Anti-Sp2 antibody (G-7) is an essential tool for researchers studying the intricate roles of Sp2 in cellular processes and its implications in various biological contexts.
