Sec6 Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sec6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sec6 (H-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Sec6 protein is a crucial component of the mammalian exocyst complex, which consists of eight protein subunits: Sec3, Sec5, Sec6, Sec8, Sec10, Sec15, Exo70, and Exo84. This complex plays a vital role in targeting exocytic vesicles to specific docking sites on the plasma membrane, thereby regulating polarized secretion in a GTP-dependent manner. Proper functioning of the exocyst complex is essential for various cellular processes, including cell signaling, growth, and tissue development, making Sec6 a significant protein in the study of cellular dynamics. Additionally, human Sec6 is located on chromosome 5p15.33, highlighting its genetic importance in relation to various physiological and pathological conditions.
