    SEE ALSO...

Rabex-5 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Rabex-5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rabex-5 (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rabex-5, also known as RABGEF1, RAP1, or RABAPTIN-5-associated exchange factor for Rab 5, functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that plays a crucial role in regulating intracellular trafficking. Rabex-5 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and associates with early endosomes, where Rabex-5 facilitates the activation of Rab 5, a key player in endosomal dynamics. The structure of Rabex-5 includes an N-terminal zinc finger domain, a GEF domain, an early endosomal targeting (EET) domain, and a coiled-coil domain, with the EET domain being particularly important for localization and function. Rabex-5′s interaction with early endosomes is vital for proper sorting and transport of vesicles within the cell, ensuring cellular processes such as nutrient uptake and receptor recycling occur efficiently. Notably, truncated forms of Rabex-5 lacking the EET domain can still associate with RABAPTIN-5, allowing for some functional redundancy in endosomal targeting. The Rabex-5/RABAPTIN-5 complex is essential for recruiting Rab 5 to early endosomes, highlighting the importance of protein-protein interactions in cellular trafficking pathways.
