PSGL-1 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PSGL-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PSGL-1 antibody (C-9) is available as a non-conjugated format. PSGL-1, also known as P-Selectin glycoprotein ligand or CD162, plays a crucial role in immune response by mediating leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells during inflammation. This interaction is vital for recruiting immune cells to sites of injury or infection, highlighting PSGL-1′s importance in maintaining immune homeostasis and facilitating effective immune responses. Structurally, PSGL-1 exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer and is characterized as a type 1 membrane protein localized on leukocyte microvilli tips. PSGL-1′s extracellular domain is rich in serines, threonines, and prolines, featuring decameric repeats that contribute to adhesive properties. PSGL-1 must undergo specific post-translational modifications, including sialylation and fucosylation, to effectively bind to selectins such as E-Selectin and P-Selectin, underscoring functional interaction complexity in immune system.
