G3PP/PGP Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PGP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). G3PP/PGP (E-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. G3PP/PGP protein, also known as phosphoglycolate phosphatase, is a 321 amino acid enzyme that belongs to the HAD-like hydrolase superfamily and the CbbY/cbbZ/gph/yieH family. This enzyme plays a crucial role in regulating oxygen transport by modulating the levels of 2,3-diphosphoglycerate in red blood cells, which is essential for the proper release of oxygen from hemoglobin to tissues. G3PP/PGP is expressed in various tissues, including red blood cells, lymphocytes, and cultured fibroblasts, with the highest enzymatic activity found in skeletal and cardiac muscle. The gene encoding G3PP/PGP is located on human chromosome 16, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, highlighting the importance of G3PP/PGP in both normal physiology and disease states.
