SEE ALSO...

Factor H Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Factor H of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Factor H (H-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Factor H plays a crucial role in regulating the alternative complement pathway, which is essential for the immune response, as Factor H prevents the complement system from attacking the body′s own cells. This regulation is vital because dysregulation can lead to autoimmune diseases and acute renal conditions, highlighting Factor H′s importance in maintaining immune homeostasis. The human complement Factor H gene encodes a 1213 amino acid serum glycoprotein characterized by 20 short consensus repeats (SCRs), each approximately 60 amino acids long, which contribute to Factor H′s multifunctional capabilities. Factor H interacts with various cellular receptors and glycosaminoglycans, further emphasizing Factor H′s role beyond the complement system and potential implications in both health and disease. Factor H deficiencies are commonly associated with acute renal disease, making Factor H a significant target for research and therapeutic interventions.
