EPAS-1 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects EPAS-1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EPAS-1 (A-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EPAS-1, also known as HIF-2α, plays a crucial role in cellular responses to hypoxia, which is a condition characterized by low oxygen levels. EPAS-1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where EPAS-1 functions as a transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes involved in critical processes such as angiogenesis, erythropoiesis, and glucose metabolism. EPAS-1′s ability to form heterodimers with other hypoxia-inducible factors, such as HIF-1β (Arnt 1), allows EPAS-1 to bind to hypoxia-responsive elements in target gene promoters, thereby facilitating the transcription of genes that help cells adapt to oxygen deprivation. Understanding EPAS-1 function and localization is vital, as EPAS-1 dysregulation has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including cancer and cardiovascular diseases, where oxygen supply is often compromised.
