Dystrobrevin Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Dystrobrevin across mouse, rat, and human species by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Dystrobrevin antibody (C-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Dystrobrevins are integral components of the dystrophin complex, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of muscle cells; disruption of this complex is linked to Duchenne muscular dystrophy and related disorders. Dystrobrevin is primarily localized to the cytoplasmic side of the sarcolemma and is particularly concentrated at neuromuscular junctions in skeletal muscle, where Dystrobrevin is essential for synapse maturation and normal muscle function. Notably, α-Dystrobrevin undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in the insertion of 57 amino acids that increase its molecular mass in skeletal and cardiac muscle compared to brain and lung tissues. Additionally, α-Dystrobrevin-containing complexes are found in endothelial and smooth muscle cells, while β-Dystrobrevin complexes are localized to the basal region of renal epithelial cells and are also enriched in neurons, particularly at postsynaptic densities. The presence of multiple isoforms, including γ-Dystrobrevin, δ-Dystrobrevin, ε-Dystrobrevin, and ζ-Dystrobrevin, further highlights the complexity and functional diversity of this protein family, making Dystrobrevin (C-6) antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle biology and related pathologies.
