DNA Base Excision Repair Pathway Inhibitor is a potent, nontoxic, specific, and cell-permeable DNA repair enzyme inhibitor. It has been shown to inhibit the 3'-phosphodiesterase and 3'-phosphatase activities of the Ref-1 (APE1) active site. Even at high concentrations, it is shown to have little effect on BamH1, topoisomerase I, restriction endonuclease, or endonuclease IV. Furthermore, this compound has demonstrated an ability to enhance the cytotoxicity of several DNA damaging agents such as temozolomide, Zeocin, MMS, and H202 in Hela, MDA-MB-231, and HT1080 cells.
