DJ-1 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DJ-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DJ-1 (D-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DJ-1 plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in protecting neurons from oxidative stress and maintaining mitochondrial function, which is vital for neuronal health and survival. DJ-1 acts as a redox-sensitive chaperone and participates in androgen receptor regulation, highlighting significance in both cancer biology and neurodegenerative diseases. The gene encoding human DJ-1 is located on chromosome 1p36.23, a region associated with various chromosomal abnormalities in tumors, and mutations in this gene have been linked to familial forms of Parkinson′s disease, underscoring significance in neurodegeneration. DJ-1 is widely expressed and translocates from cytoplasm to nucleus during S phase of the cell cycle, indicating dynamic role in cellular responses to stress and growth signals.

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, DJ-1 (D-4): sc-55572 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
