Cytokeratin 17 Antibody (Ks17.E3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Cytokeratin 17 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Cytokeratin 17 is a crucial member of the Cytokeratin subfamily of intermediate filament proteins, consisting of 432 amino acids, and is predominantly expressed in the basal cells of complex epithelia, including the nail bed, hair follicle, and sebaceous glands. Anti-Cytokeratin 17 antibody (Ks17.E3) plays a vital role in studying protein regulation of cell growth and size through interactions with adaptor protein 14-3-3-sigma, which is essential for mediating protein synthesis. Notably, mutations in the gene encoding Cytokeratin 17 can lead to impaired protein translation and reduced size of skin keratinocytes, which correlates with decreased Akt/mTOR signaling activity. Cytokeratin 17 monoclonal antibody (Ks17.E3) serves as a valuable tool for identifying cervical stem cells and studying various pathologies, including squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx, respiratory syncytial virus infections, and transitional cell carcinomas of the human urinary tract.
