Codanin-1 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Codanin-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Codanin-1 antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Codanin-1, encoded by the CDAN1 gene located on chromosome 15q15.2, consists of 1,227 amino acids and features a 150-residue N-terminal domain that shares sequence similarity with collagens, as well as two shorter segments that exhibit weak homology to microtubule-associated proteins such as synapsin and MAP-1B. This structural composition suggests a potential role for Codanin-1 in maintaining nuclear envelope integrity, which is crucial for proper cellular function and organization. Mutations in the CDAN1 gene are linked to congenital dyserythropoietic anemia type 1 (CDA1), a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by ineffective erythropoiesis and morphological abnormalities in erythroblasts, highlighting the importance of Codanin-1 in hematopoiesis and overall skeletal development. Codanin-1 (G-1) antibody in various formats serves as an essential tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
