CKAP2 Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CKAP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CKAP2 Antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CKAP2, or cytoskeleton associated protein 2, is a 682 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of microtubules and is essential for proper spindle function and cytokinesis during mitosis. CKAP2 is localized in the cytoplasm and is expressed in various tissues, including the thymus and testis. CKAP2 exists in three isoforms and is involved in critical cellular processes such as the cell cycle and apoptosis. Notably, CKAP2 interacts with the anaphase promoting complex, leading to degradation during mitosis, which is vital for the timely progression of cell division. The regulation of CKAP2 through post-translational modifications, particularly phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, influences activity and stability, thereby impacting cellular responses to stress and the maintenance of genomic integrity. Dysregulation of CKAP2 has been implicated in the development of gastric tumors, where overexpression can result in unregulated spindle functions, contributing to tumorigenesis.
