CEL Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects carboxyl ester lipase (CEL) from mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CEL antibody (H-12) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Carboxyl ester lipase plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, hydrolyzing diverse substrates such as cholesteryl esters, phospholipids, and tri-, di-, and mono-acylglycerols, which is vital for maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and preventing lipid-related disorders. The enzyme′s active site features a catalytic triad composed of serine, histidine, and aspartate, which is essential for enzymatic activity. CEL is predominantly produced in the pancreas and lactating mammary gland, but expression also occurs in the liver, macrophages, and vessel wall, highlighting CEL′s importance in various physiological processes. Additionally, CEL is involved in the assembly and secretion of chylomicrons, a process mediated by CEL′s ability to hydrolyze ceramide, further underscoring CEL′s significance in lipid transport and metabolism.
