SEE ALSO...

CD4 Antibody (5B4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect CD4, also known as T4 or Leu-3, across mouse, rat, and human species using western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD4 monoclonal antibody (5B4) targets an epitope generated against CD4+ transfectants followed by CEM cells, ensuring reliable recognition of CD4. CD4 is a crucial membrane glycoprotein composed of four extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains, playing a vital role in the immune system by acting as a co-receptor for the T cell receptor (TCR). This interaction enhances the binding affinity between TCR and class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells, which is essential for effective T cell activation and the initiation of robust adaptive immune responses. Additionally, CD4 serves as the primary receptor for HIV, making CD4 a significant target for research into viral entry and immune system interactions. Beyond its role in T helper cells, CD4 is also expressed on cortical cells, mature medullary thymocytes, microglial cells, and dendritic cells, highlighting CD4′s importance in various aspects of immune regulation and cellular communication. By utilizing anti-CD4 antibody (5B4), researchers can investigate the expression patterns, functional dynamics, and regulatory mechanisms of CD4 in immune responses, T cell development, and disease processes. Whether studying basic immunology or developing treatments for immune-related diseases, CD4 (5B4) antibody is an essential tool for comprehensive and accurate analysis of CD4.
