Datasheets
  • CALM Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 577-595 within an internal region of CALM of rat origin
  • recommended for detection of CALM of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for CALM Antibody (D-8) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with CALM Antibody (D-8) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

CALM Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CALM in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CALM, or clathrin assembly protein lymphoid myeloid leukemia, plays a crucial role in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, which is essential for cellular uptake of nutrients and signaling molecules. CALM is primarily located in the cytoplasm and participates in clathrin-coated vesicle assembly, facilitating transport of various cargoes from the plasma membrane and trans-Golgi network. CALM′s cellular location enables interaction with clathrin and other adaptor proteins, such as AP180, to form functional clathrin-coated pits that initiate endocytosis. CALM′s homologous relationship with AP180 suggests shared functions in synaptic vesicle recycling, highlighting CALM′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and communication. Anti-CALM antibody (D-8) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying endocytic pathways and molecular mechanisms underlying cellular transport processes.
