Bob 1 Antibody (6F10) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Bob 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Bob 1 (6F10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Bob 1 protein, also known as B cell Oct binding protein 1 or OBF-1, plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression, particularly in B cells, by enhancing the transcriptional activity of Oct-1 and Oct-2. This interaction is vital for the proper activation of immunoglobulin gene promoters, which are essential for B cell development and function. Bob 1 is predominantly expressed in the spleen and peripheral blood leukocytes, highlighting its importance in the immune response. Bob 1 protein′s ability to associate with the octamer motif in the presence of Oct-1 and Oct-2, despite lacking intrinsic DNA-binding capacity, underscores its role as a co-factor that facilitates cell-specific transcriptional activation. The gene encoding Bob 1 is located on human chromosome 11q23.1, and Bob 1 expression is tightly regulated, making Bob 1 a significant player in the transcriptional networks that govern B cell biology.
