SEE ALSO...

Arc Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody specifically designed to recognize an epitope located between amino acids 377-396 at the C-terminus of Arc protein, also known as activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein or Arg3.1, from rat origin. Arc monoclonal antibody (A-7) is suitable for detecting Arc in mouse, rat, and human samples using western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. Arc protein is an essential immediate early gene product involved in synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory, playing a crucial role in regulating the actin cytoskeleton within neuronal cells. Structurally, Arc contains domains that facilitate interactions with various synaptic proteins and enable oligomer formation, which are vital for modulating synaptic strength and supporting long-term potentiation. The C-terminal region targeted by anti-Arc antibody (A-7) is integral for Arc′s interaction with endocytic proteins, influencing receptor trafficking and synaptic remodeling processes. Arc is primarily localized in neuronal cell bodies and dendrites across key brain regions such as the hippocampus, amygdala, hypothalamus, striatum, and cortex, where Arc integrates signals from neuronal activity to drive structural and functional changes at synapses. Arc protein′s structural integrity allows dynamic regulation of the cytoskeleton, contributing to the adaptability and plasticity of neural networks. Additionally, Arc expression is rapidly induced by stimuli like growth factors and neurotransmitters, enabling Arc to mediate long-term cellular responses essential for cognitive functions. By utilizing Arc (A-7) antibody, researchers can effectively explore the structural and functional dynamics of Arc protein in various biological contexts, thereby enhancing our understanding of neural plasticity and related neurological disorders.
