AIP1 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects AIP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AIP1 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AIP1, also known as ASK-interacting protein 1 or DAB2IP, is a 1,189 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by acting as a Ras GTPase-activating protein. AIP1 is primarily localized to both the membrane and cytoplasm, where AIP1 contains one Ras-GAP domain, one pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, and one C2 domain. AIP1 interacts with ASK1, a key regulator of apoptosis and stress response pathways; by disrupting the association of ASK1 with the inhibitory 14-3-3 complex, AIP1 allows free ASK1 to exert pro-apoptotic functions. AIP1 is expressed at low levels in prostate tissue and has been shown to be down-regulated in prostate cancer, suggesting a potential role in tumor suppression. Chromosomal aberrations in the gene encoding AIP1 have been associated with acute myeloid leukemia, indicating that AIP1 fusion proteins may contribute to tumorigenesis.
