3-Methyl-5-AIQ hydrochloride is a strong inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 in vitro. Exhibits outstanding therapeutic benefits in models of myocardial infarction, ischaemia-reperfusion of the liver and kidney, heart transplantation and acute lung inflammation.
