Pit-1 Antibody (2C11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Pit-1 in mouse, rat, human, bovine, and porcine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Pit-1, also known as growth hormone factor-1 (GHF-1), is a crucial transcriptional regulator that plays a significant role in the development of the anterior pituitary gland, where Pit-1 is essential for the differentiation and function of somatotropes, lactotropes, and thyrotropes. Pit-1 features a bipartite DNA binding domain, which is vital for activating the transcription of growth hormone and prolactin, thereby influencing growth and metabolic processes. Additionally, Pit-1 exists in two alternatively spliced forms, Pit-1a and Pit-1b, which exhibit different trans-activation capabilities, further underscoring the complexity of regulatory functions. Mutations in the Pit-1 gene can lead to combined pituitary hormone deficiency (CPHD), affecting the production of growth hormone, prolactin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone, which highlights Pit-1′s critical role in endocrine health. The gene encoding Pit-1 is located on human chromosome 3p11, making Pit-1 a significant target for studies related to pituitary function and associated disorders. Anti-Pit-1 antibody (2C11) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the mechanisms of pituitary development and hormone regulation.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Pit-1 (2C11): sc-47761?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pit-1 (sc-47761) Santa Cruz antibody is not workinI have received the following antibody: sc-47761, Santa Cruz Pit-1 (2C11) mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody , 1 Vial.I fear that this antibody is not working. Earlier I have used sc-442, Pit-1 (x-7) antibody and I have got similar band size which is provided in the TDS sheet . Now the product has been discontinued. Instead of sc-442 antibody, I had to order sc-47761 antibody. I see multiple bands with too much of non specificity and unexpected band size which is not according to the TDS sheet . I had tried several experiments with new Pit-1 (sc-47761) antibody with appropriate positive controls
